Problems installing Ubuntu

Asked by Dines683

Hi

I am not sure if this is the right place to put this thread, but here goes anyway...

I have i Asus G1 S laptop and i can not install neither ubuntu 6.06 or 7.04.

WHen i try to install the 6.06 version the process stops ,and i message comes up saying that the x viewer is not set up properly or something like that.

When i try to install 7.04 i get the following message:

Busybox v.1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-3ubuntu3) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter" help" for a list of built in commands

/bin/bash/sh: can't acces tty: job control turned off
(initramfs)

I can install 7.10 but it comes with flaws such a freezing when i play games or use open office.
The only thing that works fine on the laptop is Windows vista, but i really want to run my laptop with Ubuntu.

Is there anything i can do or do i just have to accept that the machine doesn't work with Ubuntu??

I have just monitored the system as i froze.

I used gkrellm to do the monitoring.

apparently the system is not overheating.

when it froze gkrellm where showing the following

CPU0 : 4 %
CPU : 100%

coretemt0: 75 degrees celcius
coretemp1: 80 degrees celcius
nvidia GPU core : 70 degrees celcius

After it froze i could see that the CPU keept going at a 100%
