want to install ubuntu on windows 2000

I tried to install Ubuntu 6.06 for the PC on my laptop which is running Windows 2000 and the laptop could not read the cd. How do I install to a Windows 2000 system?

How can't your laptot read the CD? Could you plese give us a more detailed information.

Well... I guess that you put the cd in your cd-rom drive and booted your laptot and it booted to Windows, not to Ubuntu. Go to BIOS (press F1/DEL/Insert when you start your laptot before it starts to load Windows) and set your cd-rom drive to primary-boot device. Then try to boot again and your laptot should load Ubuntu.

When you are in Windows 2000 and you explore the CD, what is it that you see?
