Settings Missing!!!!

Asked by Mike Brown

I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 and ran the kleansweep application. The program then asked me if I wanted
to do a backup and I agreed. After the sweeping was done I rebooted and found that my screen was misconfigured
and my evolution settings were all gone. Please help.

I really don't see a need for a program like this. It's a hold over from windows where a lot of junk gets left behind by poorly written programs. I'm sure there are some such programs in Linux too but the package manager should take care of most of this. In general, don't worry. This is Linux not windows. Enjoy the freedom and leave these concerns in the dust. You might be able to fix this by reconfiguring xorg but I kind of doubt you will 100% happy with the results. I'd just reinstall and learn from the mistake. To reconfigure try http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=187177
