what if??

i have windows xp and get my ubuntu disk in 5 weeks my computer says it has 6gb free space 0n a 40gb hard drive can i run ubuntu but still keep windows is there a way the primary reason is that i want to keep itunes for my ipod can anyone help me?? also do i have enough space for ubuntu 10?? i dont mind a full disk install but i would prefer my way!

6 gbs will work for ubuntu but i recommend 10 gb if your not going to be saving alot of big files in ubuntu

during installation there will be an option to shrink your windows hard drive to make room for ubuntu
