Ubuntu drivers install without apt-get

I have Ubuntu 7.10 installed on Dell Inspiron 1520 and cannot connect internet from linux (Question 21206).
Can I get installation package for sound drivers (linux-backports-modules-generic) so that I can install it from Windows
and install it in Linux?

Hi:

You should download the package from this web:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/
pay attention to your version of ubuntu.
then once you have the .deb file, you can install it with:
sudo dpkg -i (and then the name of the file with .deb)
