[i945gm] GPU lockup

Asked by jonny

Every time after wake up from sleep an error occurs and ubuntu sends an error report.
The error report states it is a [i945gm] GPU lockup EIR: 0x00000010 PGTBL_ER: 0x00000001
This is happening on ubuntu 12.04 dream studio and is really annoying, if one considers that on the previous installed version of ubuntustudio 10.04 did not have this issue. I have updated the kernel and installed latest intel-drivers but the error remains. I guess it has something to do with either bad acpi handling or with the combination of grafic card driver and unity.
Kernel version (uname -a):
Linux CF-74C3BBXBE 3.3.2 #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Oct 22 13:36:42 CEST 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
But it also happens under 3.2 default kernel
DMESG gives:
[ 433.182028] [drm] capturing error event; look for more information in /debug/dri/0/i915_error_state
[ 433.183017] render error detected, EIR: 0x00000010
[ 433.183017] page table error
[ 433.183017] PGTBL_ER: 0x00000001
[ 433.183017] [drm:i915_report_and_clear_eir] *ERROR* EIR stuck: 0x00000010, masking
[ 433.183017] render error detected, EIR: 0x00000010
[ 433.183017] page table error
[ 433.183017] PGTBL_ER: 0x00000001
It says here,https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49041 that this bug will be fixed in kernel 3.5 ?
Can you please supply a patch for ubuntu?
