ATI mobility Radeon HD2400 driver

Asked by jdestruel

I can't seem to get this card recognized un Gutsy. There are other drivers for mobility radeon card, but not this new one: HD2400 series. Did anybody have any luck with this card?

Here is the link to install the driver and get 3D with this mobility card. The only thing I haven't been able to do is to get Compiz to work with this card.

I had the same problem, it is not recognized in the restricted driver list (probably because the ATI driver shipped with Ubuntu does not recognize the HD2400, you will need a newer version of the ATI driver for it).

By installing the latest ATI driver I got the native resolution & 3D acceleration, but I had to disable the Ubuntu splash screen to not get a black screen during the boot process (and the notebook freezing).

I can confirm that Compiz did not work using the latest ATI driver.
