Why is there a CPU1 & CPU2 in System monitors?

What is the output of:

cat /proc/cpuinfo; lsb_release -a; uname -a

Not sure what You mean, I have System Monitor open, clicked resources tab,
under CPU History there is a Graph read out for CPU1 & CPU2, they read both
identical @60%, just curious as to why I have 2?

Hi ,

you can open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T keys combo) and copy-paste from here bellow command

1) lscpu

Look at the results and you will see how many CPU(s) you have :-)

Whats the spec of your computer? Some computers now have more than one physical Processor chip and many processors have more than 1 core. Its telling you how many processor cores you have.

I have a core i3 and has 2 physical processors and 4 Threads. Linux recognized 4 CPU(s) both of commands shows 4.
