Unrar does not open rar files

Using Gutsy, unrar does not work, any suggestions Please, I'm having to use winrar in XP at the moment.

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get --reinstall install unrar

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

Then retry

If you do that please make sure you have the multiverse repository enabled.
There is also a free version available from universe but to install it the right command is:

sudo apt-get install unrar-free
