attempting to download "limewire" linux. get error and instructed to shut down update manager (apt-getor, aptitude . ????)

Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

two or more conflicting programs running making the download of a program impossible. Attempting to download "limewire" linux version. instructed to enter "dskg--configure-a" somewhere. I am not that programer oriented and am unsure as to where to make the entry and not very familiar with UBUNTU linux.

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo dpkg --configure -a

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.
