file-roller, nautilus & evince load on login

Asked by Andrew

Whenever I load up the computer/login, Evince, file-roller and nautilus load up. It started happening since I upgraded to Gutsy. I don't know whether xorg is crashing etc. What it happening? Is this meant to happen?

Oh and when I logout, the screen turns black and is switches to the commandline. I don't know whether this has anything to do with it. I am using Ubuntu.

You probably have the save last session on or left it on at a specific stage.
Try putting the programs off in the session settings thing (system -> preferences -> sessions)

Thnaks to everyone's input. albert told me the correct method (what Bert was hinting at above)

In Ubuntu it is a feature to remember applications running. But, you can control this:
- Close all running applications
- Open gnome-session-properties via the System menu --> Preferences --> Sessions.
- Select tab "Session Options"
- Uncheck "Automatically remember running applications when logging out"
- Press "Remember currently running applications"

Press the close button, log out and log in again. That should solve your problem.
