Hello.

Did you activate the universe and multiverse repositories? If not, do it, reload the locally stored package information and retry!

That's actually a bug

do this
i too had this problem
first Using Synaptic Package Manager, remove the package flashplugin-nonfree.
Alternatively, you can run this command in the Terminal (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal): sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-nonfree

go to system-administration-software sources
u will be prompted for ur passwod, just enter it
a window will appear with many tabs
in the updates tab click the checkbox (1) important security updates
                                                            (2) recomended updates
                                                            (3)pre-realeased updates
then while closing the window a dialog box will appear, u just click the reload button
then go system-administration-update manager if prompted for passwod give it
u will see see updates by now, but click the CHECK button the u will find at the bottom, it will download updates
then after it has finished, click 'install updates', it may take some time
after downloading and installing updates (an automated process) reboot ur system

then double click the file u just downloaded
the a window will appear and on the right hand side u will see a install button
And u need a working internet connection

Hello,

You can activate the repositories by System -> Systemmanagement -> Software-Repositories. Then tick the items with "multiverse" and "universe" and "Close" the dialog.
As far as I know you can install the downloaded archives to other maschines. After installing the updates to the current maschine you can find all the packages in /var/cache/apt/archives. I think it should work if you burn them on CD, ship the CD to the other computer and install them manually using "dpkg --install [packagepath + name]". It might also work if you just copy them into /var/cache/apt/archives and run apt-get upgrade. But attention: I'm not sure if this will work, so: No warranty!

Marry Christmas!

Sorry, I don't know the exactly name of the menu item, as I'm using the german version. It's the second item (for me) and with less sub-items than the other item in the System-menu!
