can't boot without cd

Asked by chock

I just installed Ubuntu 7.04, clearing my entire hardisk, making it my only OS.
Everything went well but when i restarted without the CD, i get a black screen only.

Do i require the CD to run Ubuntu OS or is there an installation fault?
i don't think the specs on my computer is the problem.

regards

Thanks for the question.

Is your harddrive in the list of devices from which the computer will boot from inside the BIOS?

Do you ever see the menu to start ubuntu?
