could u help me get hotmail on line when loading messenger it wont connect

hi thank u for replying im using gaim and also trying kopete . on gaim , i get the sign on bar it trys to connect and gets as far as the retrieving buddy l ist then just carries on trying to connect the sliding bar stops about 1/4 inch from finish . there are not any error messages . on kopete in the list of freinds it says connecting . i hope that helps regards eric

Are you accessing MSN it behind a firewalled connection (e.g. University, School, Work)? It could be that MSN uses Ports that your System Administrator has blocked hence no connection can be established

hi thanks for your support i have managed to get messenger working ok but still cantget hotmail to load im not sure about the port blocking could u advise further please regards eric
