Do I have to have an XP disc to use VirtualBox?

I want to use XP while still booted in Ubuntu, but do I have to have the XP install cd?
Or can I use windows off virtual box without a disc, legally?

To install XP in virtualBox you should have a XP disc and a valid serial number.
