I did a search on Synaptic for : sun-java6-plugin. There is none listed. I have a download of :jre63u-linux-i586.bin on my desktop. How do I ,or should I use it?

Make sure that under software sources you have enabled "software that has copyright restrictions" which is in the multiverse category of the repository.

See here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu#head-5bbef89639d9a7d93fe38f6356dc17847d373096 r information how to add the multiverse section of the repository in ubuntu.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help. I want to get away from MSN .I think linux is the way to go . It is going to take a while to make it it as easy as MSN to control. Thanks again.
