edgy update broke my touchpad

This is serious... I first reported it as a bug when I thought it was a flaw in one of the kernel updates for edgy that I installed and that it would be fixed soon but it was worse.

It broke hardware in some way, probably firmware related.
It doesn't work in X, gpm or Windows.

I have a Acer Aspire 3003LMi.

My bug is #64019 and has more details but #25927 might be related to the problem.

I just dissasembled my computer to check that it wasn't a physical hardware failure... and it was. I'm sorry for bothering people. I just reconnected a lose cable and the touchpad started working again.
