Nvidia 8800 GT (g92) driver

Asked by TutonicMonkey

I have just installed ubuntu 7.10 x64 on my computer:

Asus an8-32 sli dlx
Amd x2 4400+
eVGA / Nvidia 8800 GT SSC 512mb (g92) x2 In SLI
Corsair 3500 2gb ram
150gb raptor 10k- Vista
200gb wd 7200rpm- Ubuntu 7.10

I am Very new to lunix but I have been able to find my way around untill now. Is there any place I could find a step by step guide to installing the nvida driver? I did try sys/admin/restricted driver - It says none are needed but i am stuck in low vga mode.
I have downloaded the nvidia.com driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-100.14.19-pkg2.run but cannot find an good install tutorial.

Thanks

Sorry for the delay. I guess you are good for a manual install. See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NvidiaManual

Good luck !
