Attansic L1 driver

Hi All,

I have an Asus P5KC motherboard with Attansic L1 ethernet interface. During the installation of Ubuntu 7.10 (alternate desktop CD for x64) the installer issues a message, that it couldn't find any network interface. How can I solve this problem? Did anybody have the same (or similar) problem?

Yes, similar issue. I installed 7.10 in an older asus p4c, then swapped the mobo for a p5kc. everything ran fine except for audio (fixed updating alsa to the latest stable version) and now I found that the ethernet controller is not even seen by lspci, and obviously no wired eth interface shows up in ifconfig -a

I didn't notice before because I use wifi in this desktop.
