icon for restoring bootsector on livecd's Desktop

This is more a Request for feature than a question
It should be easy to make an icon on ubuntu's liveCD desktop for restoring the bootsector/bootmenu (detecting other OSes and rebuild grub menu for the ubuntu installed on hard drive). It is a not-so-easy task for a novice, and I have seen lots of questions on irc & forums asking how to restore the boot menu after having reinstalled other OSes that makes nasty things with the bootsector.
I don't know if this is the right place for such a request, but it would be a really useful feature...
