cheese wont open

I have installed and uninstalled Cheese seveal times on my wifes desktop, but I am unable to open it, I have tried to open it from the terminal and I get the following:

Thanks but this (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cheese/+bug/872015) doesn't really help. I cannot get Cheese to even open let alone open with no buttons.
