Networking short cut?

Asked by Donald Duquet

I would like to cut down the number of mouse clicks required to dial my modem. My present procedure: System->Admin->Networking enter password get network settings box click on Activate. Can I get an icon on the task bar that will open the networking box? This is what I do on Fedora and Linspire.

Yes, you can create one icon that call this command:

/usr/bin/network-admin

Good Luck!

Best way is to rightclick and create a new launcher
Name it Dialup and in command type "pon"
create another with the name hangup and in command type "poff"
Select nice icons for them and if you have configured your settings correctly once using pppconfig you will only need to click on correct icon

If you still insist on using gnome tool called network-admin then navigate to its icon and then drag it to the toolbar :)

Good luck

I just leave kppp open when I shut of the computer, when I boot up the window reappears.
