Unable to install 12.04 on Giada N20: ata1.00: status: { DRDY ERR }

HI all !
On a brand new Giada N20 (mini pc) i was able to install and use windoz for days/weeks, so it's not a hardware -disk- problem i suppose...
When i try to install 12.04 (several versions tried : i386, x64, alternate) with unetbootin on usb, i 've got a lot of errors (see below) referring to ata1 device...

Mostly are :
ata1.00: status: { DRDY ERR }
ata1.00: error: { UNC }
ata1.00: configured for UDMA/100
and so on....

i tried to boot and install 12.04 specifying noapic and acpi=off ==> same...
Any help appreciated...

Is there something related to "http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1034762.html" :
I created a new file, /etc/modprobe.d/options.conf and put the "options libata noacpi=1" in there. Seemed to fix the problem.

Try the boot option:

libata.noacpi=1

I booted on a usb key :
UNetbootin Menu:
Install Ubuntu then TAB

I added the option at the end :
> /casper/vmlinuz initrd=/casper/initrd.lz file=cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper only-ubiquity quiet splash -- libata.noacpi=1

Note there were error messages from udevd before displaying the logo (pink screen) Ubuntu, then same errors messages in a console added..
ata1.00: BMDMD stat 0x24
ata1.00: failed command READ DMA EXT
...etc

HI, Do you need some log files, details to look at ?
As said above the boot option libata.noacpi=1 did NOT solve the problem.

Try installing 10.04 then upgrade directly to 12.04

10.04 has the same behavior.. i tried to install it already. --> same error messages
FYI i tried with Linux Mint too, same result, same errors. --> same error messages

Tried with these boot options too without success :

libata.dma=6

libata.force=0:pio4

libata.force=0:udma5

libata atapi_passthru16=0

Did you try the Lucid install then upgrade to Precise?
