switched from Ubuntu 11.10 to Ubuntu 12.04 and now my Linksys Wireless PCI card randomly stops working

Asked by sladner84

I switched from Ubuntu 11.10 to Ubuntu 12.04 and now my Linksys Wireless PCI card randomly stops working.. the model number of my card is WMP 600N.. and it seems to be using the RT2800PCI driver... can anyone help me out.. currently I have my computer hooked directly to my router in order to type this out and search for solutions...
I am starting to think its a DNS problem that didnt exist for me in Ubuntu 11.10

Again can anyone help me out

Thanks

can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C network;lsb_release -a; uname -a; sudo rfkill list

Thanks.

Also, do you dual boot? Is Ubuntuinstalled via Wubi and does the system have a makeand model?

You had an IP before:
ip=192.168.1.5

If you get an IP then run:

echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" | sudo tee /etc/resolv.conf

Do you get web access?

Yes I have web access it seems to stop working when I search for updates or when I installed my Graphic card driver

you changed your DNS server to google's public DNS. Its easy to remember and may help.

Are there any bugs reported?
