Creating deb files / repositories that appear in 'Add/Remove Applications'

Asked by nsasherr

I'm managing an Ubuntu reporitory for a small project - building debs upon a release, generating the package list, and putting them on a server. I am curious as to how I would modify the debs, or the repository, so that the primary application package would appear in the 'Add/Remove Applications' programme in Ubuntu. Thanks.

I think that only a selection of programs appear in "Add/Remove Applications". I guess some devs are in charge of choosing which.

but your program should be available in synaptic, right ?
