were can I get a written sent of instructions on the OSs installation and operation?

I am new to computers 3yrs.I am looking for a complete set of written instructions on installing(everything I'll need to do to get it to run)this OS.Like drivers I need to install or is it all on the disc for example.Also operating instructions.It's always the things I don't think to ask that seem to cause me problems.For example to I need to reformat the harddrive

I agree with Factory, installing Ubuntu has become a fairly easy process compared to what it was some time ago.

But, as always, there might be problems you did not know about as you started. The best way to be sure that all the drivers will be there and working is to boot up the live cd and play a bit with it. Try out if you hear sound, if you can see movies, try to browse the web and so on. If everything works: Perfect. You can install Ubuntu (for any further information about partitioning see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/forum/installation/Partitioning, any futher information about installation you will get here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation) and enjoy your new free system. If there are troubles (for example with sound or graphic) power your computer down, boot your usual OS and write a question here at Launchpad.net describing your issue. I'm sure there'll be someone to help you!
