Shutdown splash-screen different - randomly

Asked by ^rooker

When I shutdown my computer, I sometimes see a nice splash-screen (like when booting up), and sometimes I just see a text with dots and kernel messages.

(I'm running Xubuntu 11.10 amd64)

Why this random behavior?

Tried a different splash?

No, but this is the default behavior of a clean installation.
I wouldn't even know where to change the boot/shutdown splash.

For booting I assume grub-config, but for shutdown?

Thanks for the hint.
However, I'm not trying to pimp anything.
I'm installing and supporting (X)ubuntu for several people and I think it'd make sense for these things to behave consistently - out of the box.

If it's a bug, I'm willing to hunt it down, but I'd like to get fixes upstream...

I'll probably just file a bug report on Launchpad.

Thanks!

It's just a test to see if it is an issue with the default splash

Can you help with this problem?
