How to add ALSA options in Breezy

Asked by Mark Harris

I need to pass options in ALSA and can't find /etc/modules.conf. I am trying to add enable_ir parameter for Creative LiveDrive.

/etc/modules.cong _should_ be there, however you're not supposed to edit it.
To pass option to specific modules there's the /etc/modprobe.d directory
You can create a file (E.G. something like <modulename>.modprobe) in /etc/modprobe.d and add line like:

options <modulename> <options...> in there

The command man modprobe.conf will give you some more information
After you're done run 'sudo update-modules' and /etc/modules.conf will be auto-generated

Hi Mark

Could you please help? When I'm using launchpad to update Ubuntu 8 it gives me the following message: W: Failed to fetch http://za.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/intrepid/Release.gpg Could not connect to 192.168.2.1:3128 (192.168.2.1). - connect (111 Connection refused). I'm connecting via a router.

Can you help with this problem?
