wireless internet

I have a Compak Desktop/Sempron with windows vista and a dynex wireless g network adapter.
I installed Ubuntu 7.10, and I don't have wireless network. I dont have device manager. I only can conect thru Windows.

I'm not an expert in Linux. Can someone help me?

I'm not sure if there's a native linux driver for your wireless network adapter, but I think it will work with ndiswrapper:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/Ndiswrapper

If it doesn't work or you want to have a native linux driver, post here and I'll try to help you if possible.

I changed the hardware for a Linksys WUSB54GC.
