7.04 disk fails to start

Asked by David Atherton

I have a new Toshiba Satellite L40 with Vista. I want to review Ubuntu 7.04. I have a CD from Canonical.

I change BIOS to boot from CD. CD presents the Ubuntu menu. I select "start.." after a short while Logo come up with bar and inner orange bar going from side to side.
System drops to prompt and message:

/bin/sh: can't access tty: job control turned off
(initramfs)

Now what ? I have retried on a number of occasions with the same result.

Regards

It's a known 'bug'. Try changing the order in your BIOS to HD CDROM.
