What version of Ubuntu are you using? Have you tried opening your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and uncommenting the Wacom lines there?

There's a also new app you may be interested in called Cellwriter, that does handwriting recognition.

I'm in the file and see "# Uncomment if you have a wacom taplet." how do you uncomment?

Remove all the # signs from the "InputDevice" sections whose "Driver" is "wacom".

"Could not save the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
you do not have the permission necessary to save the file.
please check that you typed the location correctly and try again

You need to open the file as root.

gksudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

I now restarted it and this time it gave me the option of starting Vista... so I chose that but now vista is stuck in the start up screen.

You probably misedited the xorg.conf file. Could you post its contents here?

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask JM for more information if necessary.
