xubuntu "No installable kernel" on embedded system

I'm trying to install ubuntu 7.10 on an embedded system with 128MB RAM and a 2 GB CF card (/dev/sda) with the SiS 200 MHz 586 compatible processor from a USB CDROM with the alternate iso. I get "No installable kernel was found in the defined APT sources". How can I get it to install?
