Not able yet to Install CD with Ubuntu 7.10

Rather Old Computer Here, With Windows Deleted, Thanks for sending Ubuntu 7.10 CD.
I had 5.10 from "Beginning Ubuntu Linux" by Keir Thomas installed. I Deleted that to have space for 7.10 and a fresh Start.
I am Dual Booting with Mandrake LE 2005.
Problem with NEW ASUS DRW Drive, Not able to read DVD's yet. Also have regular CD Drive.
Strange Things Happen with 7.10. I can boot CD after a long time it does not install, Guess it Live Booted and got stuck at some stage.

I managed to load Live CD and Install 7.10
Having some teething Problems like connecting to ADSL
but I think I can overcome that soon
