How to remove Themes

Clicking on System -->Appearance Opens a dialogue box allowing me to customize my destop with themes. Suppose I do not like the installed themes I can't delete the high contrast theme; because the delete button for that theme is grayed out. How do I delete it? I don't want it as one of the choices. I would download and install new ones.

Those themes come by default for accessibility purposes and can't be removed.

However, running the gnome-appearance-properties applet via CLI and with root permissions (sudo), makes the delete button is active.

Try:
sudo gnome-appearance-properties
