voice recorder

Asked by jojogabriel

I can't record my voice using Sound Recorder and Audacity. When I'm trying to set up Ekiga, it can not playback my voice. I already check the Volume Control. The microphone is enabled. I can hear myself from my speaker. Please help.

Please try with QArecord

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install qarecord

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

Hope this help

Thanks for the info. However, I don't need another software. I just want to use Ekiga. I was using Sound Recorder and Audacity to test microphone capture.

I tried qarecord. It was able able to create a file. But there was no sound coming from it when I played it.

Instead of booting from the hard disk, I use the Live CD. I was able to record my voice and hear my voice in Ekiga. Could you give an advice to make these happen when booting from disk?

I also noticed that Deskbar Applet works and the default screen resolution is high in the Live CD. It seems something went wrong during the time I upgrade from Feisty to Gutsy.

I reinstall Gutsy. Voice recorder now works.
