install printer

Asked by Kim MacDonald

I have sort of installed a Espson stylus c90, it is recognized on the print window that pops up when I click on print. But the print jobs just keep adding up, and nothing prints out. This is what I did. I plug in the printer and attached the USB cord to the computer. then I went to system and down to printing, the printing configuration box has the following information:
Description: Epson Stlus C90
Location: (this space has nothing in it)
Device URI: usb//Epson//Stylus%20C90
Make and model: Epson Stylus C88 CUPS + Gutenprint v5.0.1 Simplified
Status: Processing (yet nothing is happening here)
Default printer: This is the Default printer

Under the local printer the Stylus C90 is listed.
I am a new user to Upuntu, and an technopeasant.
thanks for any help that you can give me.
Kim
