gnome-dictionary error

Asked by tree trunk

When I put a word in gnome-dictionary, I receive the following error:

Error while looking up definition
Error while reading reply from server:
Invalid byte sequence in conversion input

No other information is returned.

Subsequent requests for defintions yield nothing; the program stops working altogehter.

How can I correct this, please?

PS: Another attempt to retrieve a definition induced the following error:

Error while looking up definition
Connection failed to the dictionary server at dict.org:2628

Thanks for your help

I think there were some problems with the server.

I was having a similar problem and now it works for me.

Try again and see if you are alright. If not, please list the dictionary sources under Edit --> Preferences.

Thanks
