DTMF Tone Dialer

Asked by Tong Sun

Hi, the DTMF Tone Dialer dtmfdial was available up until Natty.
why it is removed in Oneiric?
Is there a centralized place like Debian QA that I can read about why packages are removed from Ubuntu?

Thanks

According to https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dtmfdial/+publishinghistory that package has been removed because Debian has declared it orphaned, virtually unused and dead upstream, see http://bugs.debian.org/622669

If you really need it on oneiric you might try manually installing the latest available package (for natty) or build your own version from the source.

Thanks Manfred. <Sigh>, with that one gone, the only DTMF Dialer vanishes from Debian repo. Now Debian/Ubuntu do not provide any DTMF dialing capability any more.
No complain, just blaming myself not having enough time to take care of it.
