Epson DX4800 instructions in Italian

A friend and neighbour of mine is 76 years young and recently got a new Epson DX4800 multi-function printer. When he goes to print something, the print information windows, status etc appear with mostly Italian text. There is some English present but otherwise most instructions cannot be understood. Strangely, on a few occasions the window showing ink levels has appeared in English but on most occasions it is in Italian.
I have tried to find a way of setting the language, even as far as uninstalling the software and reinstalling, but there seems to be no option to alter it to English.
The installation CD lists something like 6 or 7 languages on the label but no option given when running install.
Can anyone throw light on how to resolve this. PC running Windows XP.
