adding a pcmcia device

Asked by quentin

I'm trying to add a linksys pcmcia card to my laptop; I'm more familiar with KDE and Yast (suse distro). I went to System > Administration > Networking to add a card, but there is no "add" button.
Device manager sees the card, but I don't see how to configure it or add a driver (I'm planning on having to use ndiswrapper)
Long story short - what tool should I be using and where do I find it ?
Yes, obviously I'm a serious newbie, but I'm trying. Show me step 2 and I'll work my way to steps 3 & 4.
Thanks for your consideration.

Go to the Ubuntu Forums. Download the right ndiswrapper package for your linksys card. Unzip it and cd into where the *.inf files are at. Type 'ndiswrapper -i <*.inf>' substituting <*.inf> with the name of the file for your linksys card. Another file, possibly the *.sys file will make the linksys card's link lights work. Not sure which one. Check the Ubuntu forums though!

Thanks Schmidty, it reverses the steps in SuSE, hence some of my confusion. This worked fine and I'm able to access non encrypted wireless now.
I do appreciate the help. BTW, both the NT and 9X drivers work fine for me(tested both for the fun of it).
