Hi !

Why can't you do that from synaptic ?

Do you have an error reported ?

If you open a terminal and enter

sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop

what is the error produced ?

Mayur,

yes you can install it form the Kubuntu CD. For this, you have to enable the CD as a repository.

As you can see here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu, on the synaptic package manager, when you go to Settings->Repositories where you can add channels, there is also a button for "add cdrom".

Put the CD in you drive and push this button.

I hope this helps

What Ralph says only works with a Kubuntu alternate cd. You have to either redownload or. Install kubuntu without chosing format option. This will keep all your files intact. Documents etc

Can you help with this problem?
