loading broadband software with .exe

Hi
I am new to Ubuntu (7.10) and would like to load a windows .exe software for access to my broadband modem (gateway 2701) and Ubuntu cannot rwad the disc. is there software that one can download?

Thanks for the question.

.exe files are binary files that run under Windows, but not under Linux. Usually Ubuntu should be able to connect to the Internet without this software. Maybe the page here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InternetHowto can give a starting point.
