I need to zoom out of the install window so I can see it all.

You probably need to fix the video resolution. Maybe http://help.ubuntu.com/community/FixVideoResolutionHowto will help. Then you should see the installer (and in deed everything else) in a more normal size

This tip might also help.

You can move almost any window without having to click on its title bar in Linux. This can be helpful in your situtation where the dialog box's title bar is already at the top of the screen, but the information that you need access to (or buttons that need to be clicked) are still out of sight.

Simply hold down the ALT key on your keyboard and then Left Mouse click and hold anywhere in the window that needs to be moved.

You should be able to drag the window or dialog box anywhere you want. You can also "let go" (stop holding the mouse button down) and redo this step in order to move down (or up or left or right) on any particularly large window.
