Ubuntu 11.10 hangs on booting into the live CD
Dear people,
I have downloaded the brand new Ubuntu 11.10 live CD 32 bits and to see if the Unity interface would suit me.
So I started it up as a live CD on 2 different systems:
1) EeePC 1000
2) 64bits AMD Desktop
In both cases the live CD will not boot but hangs on the splash screen showing the little dots changing color over and over again.
Pressing 'Esc' shows the following error messages:
udev[95]: timeout '/sbin/blkid -o -udev -p /dev/loop0'
udec[95]: timeout killing '/sbin/blkid -o -udev -p /dev/loop0' [422]
udev[95]: '/sbin/blkid -o -udev -p /dev/loop0' [422] terminated by signal 9 (Killed)
chroot: can't execute 'mtemp': Input/output error
chroot: can't execute 'debconf-
From that point on, nothing will happen, no matter how long you wait. Perhaps someone has a clue what is wrong?
Thanks.
PS: It's not very easy to file a bug in launchpad when the reporting procedure assumes that you have already booted up the system while you are just not able to. Therefore I send this bug as a question instead of bug. Please put it in the right place if you like. Perhaps it is just that I did not have enough patience to read all the stuff I got after I clicked to "report a bug".
Take care and hopefully the problem can be solved easily.
