new computer, and ubuntu cannot see hard drive

I just had a new computer built with four 400 gig hard drives, when I try to install ubuntu 7.10 it cannot see the drives.

Is it possible the drives have been installed in some sort of RAID configuration?

Normally, when you start the Ubuntu installation CD you should have extra options (F-buttons). I think one of them allows you to install or configure RAID devices.

Can you help with this problem?
