Language support

Asked by Gizmo

Hi,

I'm using Gutsy and my default language is in KOREAN.
I have installed all the required packages for KOREAN, and I can switch between Korean & English in all applications. (e.g. Openoffice, firefox, evolution, text editor .........)

But, I have a problem only when I'm on ubuntu OS it self, I can not create or rename the folder / file in Korean or in English when ever I try to switch between languages (pressing shift+space bar), highlighted text does not change at all. (i.e. won't let me change), but if I switch language in an application like Openoffice it works fine. I did not had this problem when I was using Feisty Fawn.

My keyboard is Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.0A, and this also happens when I set my keyboard as Generic 105-key (Intl) PC.

P.S. I think this happens when ctrl, Alt, or shift key is pressed. SCIM menu does not appear in ubuntu desktop when shift+space bar is pressed, but they do appear when these keys are pressed within an application, but keyboard icon is in top control panel at all times.
