how will i know im running on new ver 7.10 after resolving my log in problem

i thought my problem was solved but i suspect i'm still running on the older ver not the 7.10.after encountering that log in problem issue and following the advice of elart.it, i couldn't notice any difference from my old ver.

sudo halt

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.
