Microfone sound is too low

you may try to switch on the "mic boost option" of alsa.

try to find this option in the gnome-volume panel.

runnig KDE, I don't know if you will find it. you can also do it in console with the command "alsamixer", going on the mic boost switch and pushing the "M" key to unmute it.

I tried hard, but I couldn't find this option ... can you post a screenshot ?

the only thing similar that I found was "in-gain", but it's already at the max.

but you may not have this option. this could depend on your sound card model. what is your sound card model ?

you can know that by typing " lspci " in a console and identifying the right section

I have the micrphone gain option on windows, but works ( on windows) even without any gain...

to switch to the capture panel in alsamixer, use the tab key.

really strange you don't have that "mic boost" thing ...

if that does not work for you, I don't really know what to do. Maybe using alsaconf to reconfigure your sound-system ?

unfortunately no... I don't have GNOME installed. I guess that you should play with the switch in gnome-volume manager with the alsamixer capture window open until you see you find the right button.

I couldn't configure that on the gui .... i tried, but looks like it's missing there ....
