how can I install a canon MP510 printer and a HP laserjet 1000 printer

the HP laserjet printer 1000 series does not work

the canon MP510 printer just prints on 1/4 of the page

concerning printers, http://openprinting.org/ will give you the answer.

having myself an MP510, I had to buy the turboprint driver to make it work correctly. a shame...

it seems that the HP will work after a small manipulation

Choose System > Administration > Printing. Click "New printer" and follow the instructions. Your printer HP LaserJet 1000 is supported.
