Wireless usb mouse not working 11.10

Asked by Miikka Pyy

Just got a new chinese 5-button cheap-as-****-mouse, but ubuntu can't use it. It keeps "unmounting" it endlessly. Mouse is flawless in both Win7 and XP. (And works with XP in the same device). My hellokitty-mouse works fine. dmesg says:

[411.024188] USB 2-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 34
[411.247496] input: USB device USB device as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb2/2-2/2-2:1.0/input/input169
[411.250907] generic-usb 0003:0603:1602:009F: input,hiddev0,hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Mouse [USB device USB device] on usb-0000:00:1d.0-2/input0
[411.500177] usb:2-2: USB disconnected, address 34

address number runs up every cycle. What now? Bug?

In BIOS, change to "USB legacy keyboard/mouse" and try again.

Im having the same problem with my mouse that I bought from ebay. it keeps connecting and disconnecting. Even with the USB legacy support enabled, it still doesnt work. Im using Ubuntu 12.04.
